More 'Cockyness

Just watched Alfred Hitchcock's The Birds. Genius, of course.
My favorite character? Mrs. Bundy, the woman who knew all about birds. I just fell for her accent, way of talking and knowledge. (Yes, I just said about the same thing in three different ways.) And she is played by Ethel Griffies... Weird to think about that she was born in 1878 and died 1975, she lived through both world wars, murder of JFK, moon landing and a whole lot of other things.... Let's see what, using a song ;)

Harry Truman, Doris Day, Red China, Johnnie Ray, South Pacific, Walter Winchell, Joe DiMaggio, Joe McCarthy, Richard Nixon, Studebaker, television, North Korea, South Korea, Marilyn Monroe, Rosenbergs, H-Bomb, Sugar Ray, Panmunjom, Brando, "The King and I", and "The Catcher in the Rye", Eisenhower, vaccine, England's got a new queen, Marciano, Liberace, Santayana goodbye, Josef Stalin, Malenkov, Nasser and Prokofiev, Rockefeller, Campanella, Communist Block, Roy Cohn, Juan Peron, Toscanini, dacron, Dien Bien Phu falls, "Rock Around the Clock", Einstein, James Dean, Brooklyn's got a winning team, Davy Crockett, "Peter Pan", Elvis Presley, Disneyland, Bardot, Budapest, Alabama, Khrushchev, Princess Grace, "Peyton Place", trouble in the Suez, Little Rock, Pasternak, Mickey Mantle, Kerouac, Sputnik, Chou En-Lai, "Bridge on the River Kwai", Lebanon, Charles de Gaulle, California baseball, Starkweather, homicide, children of thalidomide, Buddy Holly, "Ben-Hur", space monkey, Mafia, hula hoops, Castro, Edsel is a no go, U2, Syngman Rhee, payola and Kennedy, Chubby Checker, "Psycho", Belgians in the Congo, Hemingway, Eichmann, "Stranger in a Strange Land", Dylan, Berlin, Bay of Pigs Invasion, "Lawrence of Arabia", British Beatlemania, Ole Miss, John Glenn, Liston beats Patterson, Pope Paul, Malcolm X, British politician sex, JFK, blown away, what else do I have to say,Birth control, Ho Chi Minh, Richard Nixon, back again, Moonshot, Woodstock, Watergate. (And then we are in 1974.)

And I know someone that's gonna sing along XD

Back to Ethel: in the span of 97 years she must have experienced a lot of things.
And I was sure The Birds was from 1958, but it's from 1963. Where did I get 58 from?
The trailer, that have a really dry humor you don't get half of before you have seen the movie, funny, right?

I think it's hilarious, but I doubt many else thinks so...
Anyway, he got a point, we human have a tendency to take advantage of the world around us. Melanie's fur coat is really a good example, just as the eggs.
Having a talk with him would be... AWESOME!

Something I found on the net and spend a full minute laughing at:

Well, it isn't!
So I took the liberty of making one for girls.

Oh, the joy of Photoshop.

Ideals are like stars: you will not succeed in touching them with your hands, but like the seafaring man on the ocean desert of waters, you choose them as your guides, and following them, you reach your destiny.

--Carl Schurz (1829 - 1906)

Ideals are like stars: you can never reach them and if you do, you are going to get seriously burned.
--Me (just now -.-)

My amazing math skills: A guy is born in 1986, therefor he is 6 years older than me, I managed that part. But how old is he? I made it out to be 26, thereby 10 years older than me. Skillz, I know.

I'm seriously starting to doubt my sanity

I knew I was gonna take the 11.15-bus and meet my cousin about 12 o'clock. Still, somewhere along the way I convinced myself I was gonna take the 12.15-bus. Which doesn't go on Saturdays!!
3rd big mistake in 24 hours... (the two other two being not talking to that guy and trying to publish the mega-post without being connected to the net.)
Okay, maybe not that big, bit it's annoying me.

Christmas soon?

Rant will come, but first a little quote:
"Weasleys come in two flavors: the Bill model and the Charlie model. And they are both luv." -The Starhorse.
Rant: I should have been sleeping, but I slept 5 hours today, from half past 11 cuz I was really tired and stuff. Why am I tired? Probably because Charlie, Bill, Fred and George are constantly running around in my mind, fucking it up... Not to mention Gideon and Fabian Prewett dropping in often enough.
This have been going on for a while and I have survuved, but now the Phelps-twins have joined in on the fun. GAAH, it's driving me mad!!

And I want christmas to come soon!! In the meanwhile I have to settle for this:

Sitter under korkeken og luktar på blommarna <3
(Yes, it have to be in Swedish!)

Roxette

".. A finger tip through your hair..."

In by head Roxette=Remus/Tonks, especially the songs Fingertips. I don't know how that connection has been made, but it's very strong.

In the version I got of the song you can hear "en, to, tre!" in the start. It's recorded in a studio in Rio de Janeiro, so it's a bit funny to hear them counting in Swedish...

A question just popped into my head: Are they gonna leave out the Polyjuice and seven Potters in the Deadly Hallows films?
If they are: Fuck, I was looking forward to that, especially when Bill tells Fleur she doesn't look too bad... Hey wait, was he just sucking up to her or is there something more here? Okay, I'm just kidding about that last bit.
As far as I know they are going to leave Bill out of the movies (I'm sure it's because they didn't find a hot enough actor), but if they're leaving the whole Polyjuice-plot, I'm gonna get mighty pissed! :O

Antz

Yeah, I watched it, with Norwegian voices because I have it on VHS, but the original is on it too. So really I wasn't supposed to rewind it, cuz I was planning on watching it with the original English voices, but I remembered that when I had started rewinding, so... -.-
Anyway, the guy who have the voice of Z in Norwegian, Per Christian Ellefsen, is more known for the movie Elling and I was really happy when I recognized it. He have a funny, insecure, trying-to-be-cool-about-it voice when he wants to!

But it also got me thinking; this is a movie for kids, right?
And this is some of the themes:
- War.
- Death.
- Sex. (Z says something along the lines of "I was going to let you become one of my erotic fantasies.")
- Drinking. (That crazy wasp.)
- More war.
- Cursing. (both 'crap' and 'ass' are mentioned. May not be the worst thing, but when you think about how square a lot of people are about it...)

And you know what else? Weaver is hot: he's brave, he tries to impress the ladies in a cute awkward way, he has a smokin' body, he's.... He's an ant, a fictional ant. Man, why, WHY!!!

And now, some quotes from the movie, easily cut and pasted from IMDb:

Bala: Don't you get it? I was slumming it. I chose you because you were the most pathetic little bug in the joint.
Z: You know, I was going to let you become a part of my most erotic fantasies, but now you can just write it off.

Bala: I've been kidnapped by the village idiot.
Z: Who's the bigger idiot? The idiot, or the idiot who gets kidnapped by the idiot?

Foreman: Look, I got orders, and those orders say dig.
Z: What if someone ordered you to jump off a bridge? You-you...
[Foreman looks thoughtful]
Z: Oh, brother. I'm asking the wrong guy here.

Weaver: Don't you want your aphid beer?
Z: Call me crazy, but I have a thing about drinking from the anus of another creature.
(In the Norwegian version they say 'butt', this is even funnier!)

Colonel Cutter: She's about yay tall, fairly easy
[pause to make him sound like a pervert]
Colonel Cutter: on the eyes.
(Okay, maybe not pervert, but you know...)
